Alissa Empey is a children’s illustrator based in Eastern Washington. She earned a BFA in Illustration from BYU–Idaho, and her artwork has been featured in children’s books and educational materials.

Alissa primarily works digitally in Procreate on her iPad Pro, though she also loves painting with traditional watercolor whenever she gets the chance. Her art is inspired by nature, literature, and the everyday adventures of the children around her.

She lives with her husband, four children, a mischievous tabby cat, and seventeen very well-fed goldfish. When she’s not drawing, painting, or sleeping, you can usually find her exploring the outdoors with her family, hiding under a blanket with a good book, or negotiating with a picky child over dinner.

Alissa believes that art and stories have the power to bring joy to everyday life, and she is always working to become a better artist and storyteller.
