ContactAbout I am a freelance children’s illustrator. I live with my husband and four brilliant children in Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an Emphasis in Illustration from BYU-Idaho. I continue to seek knowledge about art and storytelling whenever the opportunity presents itself. I work primarily in watercolor, but I use a variety of mixed media to create my illustrations. I am also knowledgeable of digital tools and often use photoshop and procreate. I am a member and volunteer of the SCBWI and I enjoy participating in events when possible. Some of my artistic heroes are Norman Rockwell, Mary Blair, Peter DeSeve, Claire Keane, Molly Idle, and LeUyen Pham. I am also inspired by early Disney films I watched as a child such as The Aristocats, Cinderella, and Winnie the Pooh. I love listening to audiobooks and theatrical soundtracks when I paints. When I am not drawing I enjoy exploring adventuring in the great outdoors with my family, baking chocolate chip cookies, and reading. There is typically a stack of books piled high on my nightstand. I am particularly drawn to fairy tales, light-hearted fantasy, and funny stories that make my children giggle when I read them aloud. |
